Day 15 Saturday, March 16th: Deutschland!
A beautiful sunny morning in Sevilla. Our taxi pickup will be at 11:00. I update my Trip Advisor reviews so I am current. Temperature this morning is 12 degrees very early but by the time we depart it will be 18 degrees. Our Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt is scheduled to leave at 13:10 and arrive 16:10 at Terminal One. We have three very heavy suitcases and our backpacks. Lana has Air Canada super elite status so that is the only way we could consider bringing so much wine back to Vancouver. Otherwise, it would not be possible. Weather forecast for Frankfurt is a high of 12 degrees with light rain. Brrrr, it will be cold and rainy for us after this awesome warmth and sun in Andalucia.
Our taxi driver from the hotel to the airport was awesome. The ride took around 20 minutes and cost 28.90 Euro. The Lufthansa lineups to check in were huge. We got in the priority line given Lana's super elite status. Fortunately, we got there early as our particular line had two holdups for some reason with various clients. When it was our turn we discovered the agent was super slow and incompetent. Regardless, while standing in line we both had anxiety about our luggage weight. The agent indicated that in Sevilla there is no weight limit?
It was cool to hear German being spoken around us. It took us 45 minutes to check-in with the agent which is by far the worst waiting time we have ever encountered. Security though was very quick! We are in the lounge by 12:10. Our flight to Frankfurt is delayed for some reason. When the gate agent announced "Business Class first" there was a chaotic rush and two lines formed although there was a delineated rope for one line. Yup, this is Spain. This country has not learned much about logistics.
We arrived on time in Frankfurt around 16:10 so that was excellent as we are eager to get to our hotel and then to the train station. Lana is very perturbed when I meet up with her after our flight as she had the good luck to be sitting beside a nose picker and we won't get into the details, but even I was grossed out by what she described.
We are staying at the Airport Garden Inn Hilton which is our usual place in Frankfurt. All is going at a good rate as we are on the train station platform at 17:20 for our one way trip to Wiesbaden on train S8. Cost of our train tickets are five Euros each. We will be picked up at Wiesbaden main train station by our friend Philipp and he will return us to Frankfurt airport later.
We are so excited about being back in Deutschland! We love the country and our German friends. Being in the train station evokes so many good memories as we have been down here many times in the past. We were last in Deutschland 2 1/2 years ago and have missed the country. Weather is good here with no rain. Our scheduled arrival in Wiesbaden is 18:12 and the Germans are pretty good about being on time. Not as perfect as the Japanese though. ;-)

Where is Wiesbaden?
Philipp is at the train station so lots of hugs. Prior to meeting Philipp we decided to purchase some pastries at the Le Crobag in the train station. Will be yummy! Philipp and Manu and their two seven month old twin boys just moved into a house a few weeks ago. Not too far from their original apartment. A fantastic visit and lots to catch up.

They order Indian food for delivery and it is pretty damn good. It is not tapas though! We are back to our hotel by 22:30 and doing some final wine packing and luggage re-arranging given we have four new wine bottles. We have 27 wine bottles to pack away and balance with the three bags to ensure we are under the weight limit of 23 kgs for Lufthansa.
